This book is unlike any zombie book I have ever read. The premise is strong and one of the only ones that I have read that actually seems like it could happen. The authors ability to make you feel anxious with every turn of the page is outstanding! This book is a must must must read. I am looking forward to seeing where this story is headed in book two.
My five star review of Project Purgatory Phase one

This is an excellent horror story and a story of survival, friendship and love of family. In short this story is about a virus released in a public function and the infection rate is nearly one hundred percent. There are zombie like traits that involve and insatiable hunger for human flesh and extreme violence. The infected resemble fast moving type of zombies unlike the “Romero typeâ€. Three main characters really hit home with me the first being the son of the main character who is smart, witty, fast on his feet and extremely likable. Then the father who was separated from his son when the crisis began only caring for his son during the crisis that unfolded into a horrifying situation of survival. The Fathers best friend who was there next to the father every step of the story. I just loved the best friend witty banter and interesting dialogue that kept even the darkest part of the story somehow brighter. This fast paced story sets the stage for the next book o=in the series and I was intrigued throughout each chapter. The story flowed well and was basically seamless in its description, attention to detail and ambience. I actually red this ARC twice because of how well the three main characters were portrayed. I love stories with interesting dialogue and fast paced action. I look forward to the next addition to this growing Zombie Apocaplye survival story.
